Every night when we light the fire my dog- Kyld- allways sleeps infront of it on our rug. Then my cat- Tilly- comes in and starts rolling and mimiking my dogs sleeping position and allso things like play fighting with him! Why is this?!

Your cat is trying to cover up your dogs scent with his own. Cats feel comfortable in surroundings where they can smell themselves. Hence why cats rub their face along your furniture, against doorways, on your carpets. As for the play fighting Tilly is more than likely just trying to let Kyld know that he is the boss, and that is how it will stay. :O)

My cat does stuff like that too. He rolls over my dogs’ chew toys and play fights with them. He just likes to make sure his scent is on them. He even rolls over our shoes! XD
Tilly is probably just playing with Klyd and I wouldn’t worry about it, unless your cat starts hissing.
hope that helps =]

Your cat simply wants to play with your dog. When cats roll it means they are showing affection. If your cat’s intention was to hurt your dog or it didnt like your dog then, Tilly would hiss and claw your dog.

your cat may be bored or simple like playing it. although it maybe hurting your dog because it feels threatend or jealous.
