The Serengeti Cat is a large boned, long legged, domestic cat resembling an African wild cat called a Serval. There have been no servals used to create Serengeti Cats.

The Serengeti Cat is a clear yellow to gold cat with a pattern of distinct widely spaced black spots. Their stomach, ventral surfaces, whisker pads, chin, throat and jowls can be a little lighter in color. The coat is short, thick, and moderately soft. Since melanistic servals are known to exist. Serengeti Cats may also be cold gray with black spots, silver with black spots or solid black.

The Egyptian Mau's body is medium long,Its head is described as a slightly rounded wedge with no flat planes, medium in length. The nose, when viewed from the front, is even in width for its whole length, with a slight rise from the bridge of the nose to the forehead. The Mau's muzzle is neither short nor pointed, and its ears, which may be tufted, are of a medium size, moderately pointed, with ample width between the ears. One of the most distinctive features of the Egyptial Mau is its eyes: large, slightly slanted, and of a unique light "Gooseberry green" color.

There is a very good chance that the cat you have has a tabby pattern
Tabbies are so ubiquitous that many people think of them as a breed. Not so; the tabby is a color pattern - most often stripes, but sometimes stripes and whorls, or even spots and stripes. The tabby pattern is so popular that it can be found in many pedigreed cats today, and is accepted in a number of breeds by the most popular registries.
hope that is helpful.

Mau's are naturally spotted cats. They are an old breed of cat and not a hybred of other breeds to create a new cat; like the Serengeti.

Mau's have NO wild blood; the Serengeti is a Bengal/Oriental SH mix.

This is a Mau.

This is the hybred Serengeti

The Serengeti is a new breed, from crossing the Bengal cat and an Oriental cat. Looks similair to the Serval. Males are generally slightly larger and heavier than females and can weigh up to 15lbs; females generally weigh between 8 and 12lbs.

The Egyptian Mau on the other hand, is an ancient breed, going back over 3000 years. Its medium-length body is muscular, with the hind legs longer than the front, giving the Mau the appearance of standing on tiptoes when upright. It's the fastest domestic cat. (36 mph). It's also a naturally spottted cat. According to the breed standard, they must have green eyes.

Hi! i Own A Egyptian Mau! I will tell you about it.I did a report about 2 months ago on them.Mau means Cat in Egyptian.Today, the Mau is a domesticated cat.The Mau is said to have originated in 1953.Breeders tried to make another Mau,with Abyssinians,Tabbies, and Siamese. However, these breeds did not resemble the true egyptian Mau.This Breed Basis became that to be known as the ocicat.Egyptian Maus are fast cats. This is because of a flap of skin that extends from their flank to back knees, this provides for greater speed and agility.Maus have a high energy level. The most destinctive of the coat of the Mau is its spots.Maus come in 5 colors:silver, pewter, bronze, and smoke.Black Maus can not be shown, but may be used in breeding. The exact origin of the Mau is not recorded and therefore cannot be known for sure. The Mau is a decendant of the African Wild Cat.As evidenced in art work of ancient Egypt that is over 3,000 years old,the look of the Mau has not changed significantly.Maus have an "m" shape,or Scarab Bettle on their forehead. All Maus Must have Green Eyes.Amber to Gold eyes is acceptable in Maus up to 18 Moths old.As described by:The Cornell Book Of Cats:The Egyptian Mau is a balance between the compactness of a Burmese and the slim elegance of a Siamese. Its medium -length body is muscular, with the hind legs longer than the front, giving the Mau the appearance of standing on tip-toes when up right. They can run over 30 mph. They have a slower digestive period than most cats. The Mau is A Rare cat breed.AS of 2006,a total of 6,741 Maus were registered with the CFA.As of 2007,a total of fewer than 200 kittens were registered with the GCCF. And the Mau is the only naturally spotted breed. They Are also the only fastest breed.Maus are more temperatur sensitive than most cats. They love warm temperatures. With the round Green Eyes of the MAu,The Mau is described as having a "Trubled Look" They are also more anestetic sensitive than most breeds.Maus posess musical voices. They are known to chirp and chortle, and emit other distinctive unusual noises.A behavior of the Mau is called "Wiggle Tail" The Mau appears to be marking territory, also known as spraying.Male and Female Maus do this, only when stimulated.Hope This Helps!
