I have this new cat she was from the pound i know shes a mix but she looks alot like both or theses cats i was wondering whats the difference so i can figure out what she is?
what's the difference between the Serengeti cat and the Egyptian mau cat?

The Serengeti Cat is a large boned, long legged, domestic cat resembling an African wild cat called a Serval. There have been no servals used to create Serengeti Cats.
The Serengeti Cat is a clear yellow to gold cat with a pattern of distinct widely spaced black spots. Their stomach, ventral surfaces, whisker pads, chin, throat and jowls can be a little lighter in color. The coat is short, thick, and moderately soft. Since melanistic servals are known to exist. Serengeti Cats may also be cold gray with black spots, silver with black spots or solid black.
The Egyptian Mau’s body is medium long,Its head is described as a slightly rounded wedge with no flat planes, medium in length. The nose, when viewed from the front, is even in width for its whole length, with a slight rise from the bridge of the nose to the forehead.The Mau’s muzzle is neither short nor pointed, and its ears, which may be tufted, are of a medium size, moderately pointed, with ample width between the ears. One of the most distinctive features of the Egyptial Mau is its eyes: large, slightly slanted, and of a unique light "Gooseberry green" color.
There is a very good chance that the cat you have has a tabby pattern

Mau’s are naturally spotted cats. They are an old breed of cat and not a hybred of other breeds to create a new cat; like the Serengeti.
Mau’s have NO wild blood; the Serengeti is a Bengal/Oriental SH mix.

The Serengeti is a new breed, from crossing the Bengal cat and an Oriental cat. Looks similair to the Serval. Males are generally slightly larger and heavier than females and can weigh up to 15lbs; females generally weigh between 8 and 12lbs.
The Egyptian Mau on the other hand, is an ancient breed, going back over 3000 years. Its medium-length body is muscular, with the hind legs longer than the front, giving the Mau the appearance of standing on tiptoes when upright. It’s the fastest domestic cat. (36 mph). It’s also a naturally spottted cat. According to the breed standard, they must have green eyes.
