It said the family was looking for the cat but that was probably the last hour when they said ‘Where is that cat’ look in all the obvious places then look in the bin! Chickens are slaughtered animals are abused people are dying and they worry about a cat. Cats get stuck in places all the time it is no big deal!

A friend of mine said in answer to this question that he would do worse than throw a cat that was killing baby robins in his garden in a bin. He pointed out that cats kill literally millions of birds a year and that animals in the food industry are treated appallingly. He was reported for breaching the guidelines and his account has been suspended.
Thus, beware. It doesn’t seem to matter what libel people write about the McCanns or Jews and Muslims, but suggest that cats are cruel animals and your account will be suspended.
YA is a total joke.

societies who are horrified about a poor moggy being thrown in a bin tend not to drop atom bombs or build gas chambers, that made you think huh..

Yeah but its not like the cat just wandered in there by herself and got stuck, that batty woman put her there deliberately.
It’s so very rare that the public ever get to find out who has caused cruelty (animal or otherwise) we often hear about it, get angry, think "If I ever came across this person, I would make them sorry" and then move on to something else. This opportunity is too good to miss!
Nothing provokes anger in people than someone picking on someone who isn’t their own size.
@ Essex Ron: By your own logic, birds are just as cruel by catching worms and insects. Most animals prey on something but irregardless that woman said she didn’t do it to protect birds. I have also reported your answer for saying you would do worse than put the cat in the bin. I got reported for telling someone how to spell so I can certainly report you for that.

She did something stupid, but hey, we are all guilty of that at some point in our lives. People should get a life and accept her apology!!

It’s cruel at the end of the day.

It was just how she did it. Look how she gained it’s confidence first, it was just plain weird! Usually people who are mean to other creatures for no reason anger other people.
It is starting to annoy me how people keep mentioning all the other various atrocities in the world but are not doing much about it. If you care so much about these other things why dont you set up an facebook page raising awareness? At least people like me are making our opinions known about something we care about.
@ Finecity_boy: If you bet on that with me, you would LOSE I’m afraid. I hate Raoul Moat so much I was tempted to go up to Rothbury and throw them stupid tribute flowers in the lake.

You’re asking what the big deal is about a deliberate act of cruelty???
Should we condone pickpocketing because it’s not as bad as armed robbery?
Should we condone burglary because it’s not as bad as rape?
Yes, of course there are worse things in the world, but presence of a greater evil does not justify a lesser evil.
Yes, chickens are slaughtered (and live in horrendous conditions – those who support that vile trade by purchasing its products should be ashamed of themselves), animals are abused (including that cat!), people are dying…. etc.
If you start to condone acts like those of Mary Bale, what else do you condone?

Sentimentality and viciousness are two sides of the same coin in our rusty and not so pleasant land. I bet the people calling for this woman to be hung, drawn and quartered also consider themselves to be animal lovers. I’d even be prepared to bet some of them also posted on the "Moaty, you hero" page.
If only the public went after politicians (and banks) with the same zeal, anger and determination in an attempt to get them to do something about the problems of this country, then we would become great again.
Polly Anne. Ignore the flowers – those are easy to destroy and throw away. The more odd supporters of Moat, not so – and it’s them who will be turning up year after year to ‘pay their respects’. These kinda people are not so easy to throw anywhere!

You’re right, it was no big deal when you look at the big picture of life.

It was a ‘big deal’ for that cat.
Instead of the selfishness so prevalent in modern society, citizens would do well to see things from others perspective. Including cats’.

It’s shows the woman’s mental state is not right. She should be checked in an asylum before she does something else.
What type of clueless person thumbed me down? I would cross the road to avoid this woman. She is unstable in the mind.

Maybe it’s the symbolism? Have we become such a cruel, compassionless society that we can do things like this just for the heck of it? We all know about the other awful stuff that goes on, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t care about one helpless animal. This incident has demonstrated that we still have our human, caring side – but it also demonstrates that we are overwhelmed by the bigger horrors surrounding us and are maybe stopping caring about those.

because that’s the problem with society now its the "who cares it’s no big deal" it’s only a cat that got put in a bin, where do we stop giving a toss, it’s only an old person who got mugged big deal they will be dead soon, it was only a small stabbing your family got, who cares they will live.
the end of the day she should not have done what she did, and yes i believe she should be prosecuted for it, at the end of the day its an animal a living thing, would you still say the same if it was a child that had been thrown in the bin?
