My quaker parrot sits on my lap and it makes a humming/growling noise. and i do it back to it and we can keep it going back and forth. Does anybody know what that noise is meaning?

  1. Quakers make a "purring" sound (like a cat) when they are happy / relaxed.

Mine make it constantly right in my ear when they are on my shoulder, and I can hear them making the same sound when they preen each other.

When I try to make the sound back they get all hyper and excited, yet when my husband copies (he can "roll" his tongue / sounds) they snuggle in closer.
I guess I must say it wrong lol.
