My dog is 2 years old and he is always barking at other dogs, pulling really hard and sometimes growling at the neighbour hood Miniature poodle. I tried to pull the lead sharply and say ‘no’ in a harsh voice or say ‘leave it’ but it didn’t work.
It is sometimes embarrassing. I really want to get him to stop. Any help please? I’m thankful for every answer!

do you use a choker chain? Those things are amazing when teaching your pet dog. Otherwise pick up the pace and DO NOT stop when you see something he’d like to bark at coming up.
Keeping pulling sharply and saying ‘no’ with the fast pace walking, he’ll soon get the point that he doesn’t have enough time to stand there and bark, and that you are not interested in stopping.
He’ll eventually get the point that he doesn’t need to bark but needs to keep going.

A squirt gun might help, it helped with my chihuahua. Is it a mean growl or an I want to go play growl. If it is not a mean growl you might try letting the dogs meet.

I would like to suggest that you have an electronic dog repellent with you. It has a discomforting but not harmful high frequency sound (20,000Hz-25,000Hz), audible to dogs but not to humans. And, the second is a super bright LED flashing strobe that temporarily blinds and confuses the dog. Helps stop the approach of unwanted dogs up to 40 feet. Also has a training setting. Requires on 9 volt battery. Can be used as a flashlight. This way, you could stop your dog from further barking without harming him.

Re: How I Got My Neighbor’s Dog To Stop Barking!
I recently had a really bad situation involving my neighbor’s dogs and their barking. I work at night and sleep during the day when people usually don’t pay attention to their barking dogs.
I asked my neighbors to quiet their dogs down and they agreed. The dogs are still barking at about the same rate so I am sure that they did not take me seriously.
After weeks of not being able to sleep, I decided to check the internet and found a lot of people that recommended "The Barking Dog CD".
To make a long story short, I popped the CD into my CD player and the dogs stopped barking almost immediately. As on person stated "I almost fell out of my chair when the dogs stopped barking". I totally agree with them. It worked like a charm. The website is at http://www.antibarkingdevice.com if you are interested.
This method should also work on your own dog if you are having problems with your dog. I certainly hope that I was helpful to you.
