My dog’s birthday is in a few weeks and we are throwing her a birthday party, and I thought it would be really cute if she could blow out her birthday candles. How do i go about teaching her how to do this? She is a very smart dog to begin with (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel)
Thanks!!!!!!!
I have seen 2 dogs do this before, and it was not dangerous at all
Its a special dog cake that is okay for dogs to eat.

I don’t think you can teach your dog to blow the candles out but if you teach her to "speak" you might be able to make it look as if the candle was blown. Here is a link to teach your dog to speak. Just be careful and make sure she does not eat too much cake!

Here are two videos showing dogs blowing out candles but they look like it happened by coincidence.

This sounds like a trip to the vet’s waiting to happen.
Maybe you should just do it for her and let her take the credit.

well, this is different. i guess you could try getting her to sneeze. but whatever you use to get her to sneeze, make sure it wont harm her nasal cavity. like a feather or air spray.

The only way I can think of is to get her to go something like "rowf!" in front of the candles. (use one….it will be easier hahahahah)

Its not possible for dogs to blow enough air on a candle to blow it out.
Maybe if your dog sneezed…
Main Point: Sorry, but its not going to happen

Well, you can teach dogs to purse their lips which is required to direct where their breath is going, so the best you can do is get the dogs face close to the candle and teach her to exhale. This is, needless to say, very dangerous and not advisable, but she’s not my dog.
Hope you make the right choice.

I HAVE A KING CHARLS TOO. they are very smart dogs, loyal and very trainable, but please remember she is a dog let her be a dog instead of teaching her silly tricks like that, and i really hope your not planning on killing your dog by giving her cake

Pigs might fly!
Perhaps you could teach her a more ‘normal’ trick. It could still be impressive.

that would be very difficult. i think you should just blow them out for her!
i throw my dog a birthday every year, with a cake and toys, she loves it.

I don’t think it is much possible. I think it could be a little dangerous and wouldn’t let my dog do it. I do agree with others, that you can always make your dog sneeze.!

wellllll you cant really teach your dog how to blow out candles BUT you can teach your dog how to sneeze(dog fact: sneezing is a dogs way of laughing.). there are alot of ways you can go about doing this, but this is how i taught my dog how to sneeze. i either did something funny like give him sooooo much attention that he thinks its funny or you can blow on his nose or something.
