We already have three cats so you would think that I could answer this for myself, but this cat is one that we brought in from the street. We had him fixed before we brought him in. He uses the litter box to poo in, but he wont pee in it. Any suggestions?

  1. try to put him into a small room or like a dog cage with the litter box all day or just when ur not there to keep an eye on him and as he gets the hang of it slowly move him into bigger spaces until everythings all good

  2. Keep putting your cat in the litter box. Even a few times an hour, just pick him up and set him in there. Especially if you see him pee elsewhere, pick him up immediately and set him in the box. I have two cats that were once feral, and they both caught on with this method. This way you know that wherever they are, they know their way back to the box.

  3. I found it was easier to get a new one to use the litter box.. if you leave some of the waste from the other cats in the box.. and just keep sitting the kitten over in the box.. when he/she gets out.. wait a little while and put it back in the box.. after he pees in there once.. he will keep going back..

  5. My kitten had the same problem when i got her fixed she would go everywhere else but the litter box, but after a week passed the cut heeled up and she started to use it. I think it might be that they just want to keep it clean or something they are very clean animals you know, Well I hope you figure it out!!! Maybe try Newspaper put some litter around it and maybe it’ll pee on the newspaper I did that with mine till her cut heeled she did go pee on the newspaper lol I went through alot of newspaper I can tell you that lol.

  6. Some cats don’t like sharing a litter box with other cats. You may have to have more than 1 litter box or change it often enough so it doesn’t know.

  7. I trained my cats to use the toilet! I shit you not! You have to take it really slow, it will take a couple of months, but here’s how-
You’ll need an extra toilet in your house/apt. to use for this, that only the cats will use during this time to learn~ anyhow, place the litter box next to the toilet. Once they get used to the new location, start stacking magazines under the box, only one or two at a time and only every couple days. It has to be extremely gradual so they don’t notice… tee hee… Soon they will get used to having to jump up a little to use the box. Once it is level with the toilet, open the lid and put their box into the toilet bowl. (Turn the water off and drain it first). Not long after that you can just take the box away and put some litter in the bowl, and thus they will begin to figure out how to balance all 4′s on the edges! Viola! A while after that, you have a cat that uses the can!
However… I’m still working on getting them to flush LOL
    I don’t think that’s going to happen
